The brown recluse is also called a fiddleback because it has a violin shaped marking on its back. They are not aggresive and most bites occur when they are accidentally squished. Here in California we are seeing more and more brown widows which seem to be taking over the old haunts of the black widows.

MontyJ I knew you were kidding me !!! You should see that spider! It was few inches from my hand when I put the seeds down ! I was glad it didnt bite me !! it took me a while to find out what kind it was. its called sun spider.

That chart showing pictures of spiders is terrifying. I have a little adrenaline going after looking at it. I guess I'm scared of spiders!

Journey you made me laugh out loud talking about a dusty house, I'm doomed right with you! Guess I need to get to cleaning this weekend. But I figured I had Halloween decorations up (cobwebs). LOL

Holy Cow, I looked up sun spider, that made me shutter!
