I just hope the squirrels all leave my spring bulbs alone

Nothing worse then going to your garden finding what the squirrels or other pests have done

Here are some pictures of them:

If it helps, I let mine turn brown, then clip the leaves after they've fallen over brown rather then pull. I leave the bulbs in the ground until Fall. In November I pull them up and separate them and move some of the new bulbs around. Try not to pull them up totally... if they have good drainage they should stay just fine in the ground until next year.ninnymary said:My tulips have finished blooming and I will probably pull them out tomorrow. I've tried leaving them in the ground to multiply and come up next year but they don't. I've also left them till their tops brown and then pull them and store them. The only problems is that I forget where I put them. It's much easier to just buy a bag at Costco each year.

You're not alone HunkieDorie23 I have so many tulips and hyacinths that i planted, their is a spray you can make i believe with hot sauce and garlic, i'll post what it is. And this sprayed around the plants will keep them away, but i'm not sure if it will harm the squirrels.HunkieDorie23 said:I have crocuses as well and some daffodils coming up but the stupid squirrels must have gotten my tulips. Every year I have less (which I know is supposed to be the other way around). Why do they only eat the tulips and hyciniths?
