So, I was out looking at my apple trees today and I noticed that there were a couple of leaf footed squash bugs (booo!), and about 4 lady bugs (hooray!!). Upon closer inspection a couple of my new shoots with flowers on them are COMPLETELY covered with newly hatched little green nymphs with black legs! HELP!!!

If you're feeling really mean, buy some kerosene, knock the bugs into it and burn them on your burn pile...
like I do...............................................................................................

did I say what I was thinking about doing?!?!?!
----------------------------AGAIN!?!?!?!

I did squish the adults... but what do I do about the nymphs?? Do I squish those too??

Unfortunately... we don't have a burn pile... :/

If they are so small that they are hard to squish, try some moving tape wrapped around your hand- and stick them to it....

Ooh thanks guys!! LOL I didn't know HOW I was going to get rid of them.... I will try the tape... and if that doesn't work.. I'll get the canola oil. Will my lil flowers and such be okay if I drizzle the oil over it?? They're not open yet....

Sounds more like aphids? Insecticidal soap or oil spray? blast spray with hose?

I mix dish detergent with water and spray it on bugs. It suffocates them, as will most fine powders.

Good luck!
