I don't mind a bit. I'm on Otay Mesa, right on the Mexican border. The distance between us isn't much in miles but it's quite a difference in climate. I get a lot of the ocean influence which moderates my temps.TanksHill said:

Actually Vista has a lot of ocean influence as well. I am just north of the 78 and only about 8 miles from the coast. We usually have the morning fog until about 10 or 11 and then watch it rollback about 4pm. It's nice because cool days usually warm up and hot days cool of quick. compared to Huntington Beach where I grew up this area is pretty rural. No straight streets and lots of hills. makes for a nice breeze!!
I just looked up your city. You are way down south. I saw your pics on the photo thread. do you live in that little log cabin now or was that in Ok? Looking good in those pics!! I agree all the hard work in gardening keeps me moving.
Oh, back on topic. I ventured to the Baker Creek web site. Who knew they had a forum? Anyways I am going to try a fish out some more info on my squash.

That cabin was in Oklahoma. It would never meet California code but in Oklahoma there is no code outside the towns and cities. You do what you feel like on your own property.

I am so jealous of all the locations in the thread. It is making me home sick. My momma lives in Pasadena (I grew up in and around L.A. and east of it) and I adore San Diego, Vista and Oceanside.
