It was a minus 19°f in Stanley Idaho today. The coldest in the contiguous 48 states.

The image should update ;).

If you would like to check out the view, full moon coming soon (!), here you go:

I guess this is where we all become grateful for where we live (unless it happens to be Stanley).

I've been to Stanley. Some 30 odd years ago. I liked it a lot, had a real neat hardware store back then, but that was during some wonderful summer weather. I guess I wouldn't appreciate it so much in the winter.

We had a visit from Jack Frost this morning ... everything is white as far as you can see.

It's -6°f in Stanley right now.

I bet I missed some cooler mornings with the busier times lately.

Real pretty webcamera view :).

I thought it would be fun to allow Stanley to check out Big Piney, Wyoming!

Wikipedia: "Sometimes known as the 'Ice Box of the Nation,' Big Piney has one of the coldest climates among inhabited locations in the Lower 48. Big Piney experiences a semi-arid climate (Köppen BSk) with long, cold, dry winters and short, warm summers. Because of the high elevation and aridity, large diurnal temperature differences are a regular feature of Big Piney's climate. Precipitation is very low and somewhat heavily concentrated in the warmer months."

Since most of us are experiencing somewhat warm temperatures:

Today's National High/Low temps: 82 at Naples, FL; -18 at Stanley, ID http://go.usa.gov/cPeXh

It's at 8° right now but not suppose to be any -18°f tonight! Snow arriving for Stanley by Thursday. Much, much warmer here with a little rain and maybe quite a bit of rain by Thursday.
