I transplanted the cupcake squash, first prize hybrid pumpkin, and steakhouse tomatoes! The squash and pumpkin went into the garden bed and the toms went into another pot, there is some fungus in the seed starter and I had to get them out of there! I also planted peas, and the beans from @HotPepperQueen ! They are doing great in our weather!
Moved all the cool weather crops to one of the two greenhouses I had bought awhile back. Starting to harden them off and will hopefully be able to leave them out at night soon as well!!
Totally forgot to make tomato cages....Moved the tomatoes downstairs. Peppers are still upstairs and the cucumbers have tons of flowers and baby cukes growing!!? Uh-oh!
@secuono I have the same greenhouse but the walk-in one! Transplanted ornamental corn, squash, watermelon, and brussel sprouts. So warm here, getting into the 80's!
Everything looks good, especially those nice, big pepper plants. Sorry your cukes got a little ahead of themselves. That's a bummer. I'd still go ahead and plant them and start some more for back up.
@secuono are those standard rex? They are next to impossible to find here in southern NC! What colors do you have?
As far as starting seeds we have a 5 tier wire rack that we attached lights to. We didn't use plant lights or anything like that because we'll put them outside WAY before they need that. We use it for storage when we're not starting seeds. EVENTUALLY I would like to move it to the laundry/dog room. I think with our "puppy" just turning 3, that we should be able to trust her and the Eski to be out full time, the one Greyhound tho... he'll never be able to be trusted. He likes to eat paper.. mostly from the bathroom.
The rooster is our big boy Alexander the Great. He'll be our main breeder for this year. He's so studly!
The mostly empty bed is this years garden flowers. I'm really hoping that more flowers come up! Stupid mole/vole keeps getting in there and eating my bulbs!!
And of course, our yearly "before" picture.
Yes, they're Rex. I have red, broken red, castor and broken castor. One gave me some fun colors, so I might end up with kits of other colors than I planned for, lol.
Right now, I only have a red buck who will be available after the 24th.
Expecting litters next week and the week after.
