What is the best way to store cilantro? I miss my fresh....just walk out my back door and snip. It seems that every time I purchase fresh cilantro from the grocery store it gets moldy and yucky real quick and I end up throwing half of it away. Anyone have any tips on how to store it so it will last for more than 2-3 days?

I put it in a glass half filled with water, loosely cover with a plastic bag and stick it in the fridge. Keeps for probably about a week if it hasn't been used up already. :)

Just got off the phone with my mother and she told me the very same thing!! If I buy it from the farmers market that is how they always store/display it for sale. Duhhhh....I sure wasn't thinking!! Thanks for the reply!

I pull mine and leave the roots on. You can keep them in a glass of water for weeks.

Culinary herbs are distinguished from vegetables in that, like spices, they are used in small amounts and provide flavor rather than substance to food.
