I threw mine in the pond at the old house for the fish to hide in from the coons & herons looking for a fast meal. Whenever I tried to grow strawberries mine dried out too fast for any real production too.

It made a HUGE difference in the quality & size of fish when I lived at that house since they could actually grow up instead of just being food.

I have seen strawberry pots turned upside down with a light kit in them for a hanging lamp. Looks neat.

I planted ever-bearing strawberries in a large pot, last year. They were wonderfully nonstop productive, until frost. The only drawback, it dried quickly in summer. It was late winter when I had them in the greenhouse.

What type of strawberry? Would love to find one that is an ever bearer. Bought some, they aren't.

I usually plant mine with strawberries- just because I like the way they look. Not much production. When fall comes I add the plants to my garden strawberry bed. I have seen them planted with hens and chicks. I love anything and everything planted with hens and chicks!

I've never had success with anything but succulents in those. They seem to dry out to fast. The hens and chicks thrived till the point where the small chicks were constantly needing to be taken out and planted somewhere else eventually space ran out and they were just given/thrown away. I don't remember what the other succulents were, they had a redish stem with green leaves and there were several different different color verities, orange, yellow, pink, and hot pink.
