Thank you So Lucky. :hugs

It is not an easy thing for the people at the no kill shelters, sanctuary places, with all the work and heartache they live with. They are a special kind of strong, sometimes bottle feeding, trying to save the weak or sick, and sometimes losing a fight. I do understand her crankiness. That some folks out there just seem to collect and breed animals, then give no care. The population just increases.

At some point there will need to be a requirement that to own cats or dogs, they will need to be spayed or neutered unless the owner pays for a license to be a breeder, and follow regulations.

There are other ways to help even without money. Some do the real big help, and do foster care, caring for a half a dozen or so until they are adopted. Others are veterinarians who donate care and training. Some donate things like old towels and washcloths. Police and firemen often help by fostering a few. And then there are ways that small businesses help that is mutually beneficial, such as a farm supply having a section of their store set aside for animals in nice cages waiting to be adopted by a customer. It brings in more customers, and they stay longer.

Another way to help that costs no money is to friend them on the social internet pages, and then share some of the photos of pets needing to be adopted. Have your friends add them too. Even if they do nothing but that the word gets spread to friends of friends.

It's a kind of animal rights violation to not spay or neuter pet cats and dogs, and it is a struggle for those who take care of the problems that happen because so many don't do that simple thing.
