This spring I am going to start seeds.I had a bunch of used plastic cell packs , I was planning on using. I got the bright idea to use the dishwasher to sterilize them. I ment to set dishwasher to fine china and crystal, but forgot. I now have a bunch of melted cell packs, hopefully didn't harm dishwasher. What was your stupid mistake in the garden?

Oh so many!!!! Dumbest, when switched-one year-from 12-12-12 to 18-18-18, didn't cut rate. Burnt the garden down! Trying to find new tomato and pepper plants out of season is tough!

We had a thread on this type of stuff last year. I was thinking of starting one like this to show the new members we're not all perfect. Anyway it's a whole new year full of new mistakes.

I forgot to plant leeks last fall. I normally start the seeds in September in the ground and they overwinter. Steve's going to be upset with me. He likes his leeks.

Again last fall when I harvested my sweet corn, I let the ground go. Some Bermuda grass got a good start. It would have been so easy to just take care of that before it got set. Now I have to painstakenly dig that up and try to remove all roots, runners, and grass stems. Every joint in every stem is a new plant ready to grow.

I think that's it so far but the year is young. Give me time.

I removed a young apple tree because I thought it couldn't be saved. Thought there was something in the soil. Turned out it was blight. I've since replaced it and trim any blight I see coming. Also noticed that it was coming from my neighbor's tree and told him to prune it which he did. Keeping my eye on it.

I probably have more that are due to negligence...ha.

I tried burying kitchen scraps in a cold (done cooking) pile of manure that was already sitting on my garden one winter. Turned it all over in the spring to find kitchen scraps everywhere that looked like the day I had buried them. Fed the slug population well too, I'm sure.

Oh, that would be horrible! I cherish every one of my cell packs, some are even duct taped :D

I have only made a couple of mistakes..
Letting chives go to seed - you will only do that once!
Making a shade garden in a wood area, before I knew what poison ivy looked like . :somad
Starting tomato plants in Feb. - 90 of them! :gig

I'm not sure if I've had a real uneventful year ... whoa, maybe this will be it!

Ahem! And just why don't you have a picture posted of your duct taped cell packs on the duct tape thread??

I was afraid you might catch that. As soon as I can get to my shed without snowshoes, that will be top priority, you betcha! :D
