I hate to report that our oldest grandson's senior class had it's 3rd suicide this school year. One of his classmates' was a casual friend from a few mutual classes over 4 years ... his mother went to his bedroom to wake him up at 6:30 yesterday morning and found him dead in his bead. No other information was provided by the police. In another more happier result incident ... a friend of our grandson asked our daughter to help with his depression issues via a text as he couldn't confide his issues with his parents. She then called the parents and explained the situation. The parents then sat down with their son and had a very good talk with their son then they made an appointment with a psychiatrist . A couple weeks later this boy called our daughter and thanked her for her help. Today, the high school is having a meeting to see if they can find out what is going on in this class and school that is causing such issues that leads to suicide. RIP . :(

12 school psychologists and a therapy dog were brought in to this High School yesterday to counsel students. The Coroners office stated that this suicide makes 11 teen suicides in Fresno, Cal. area this year compared to 4 last year. Parents are very concerned as to what is actually going on. :idunno :caf

My heart goes out to his family and friends, this is so sad to hear, it seems to be happening so often now, I think bullying and low self esteem is a big part of it :(. Up here there's an epidemic of fentanyl overdoes resulting in many deaths. I don't know what the answer is but the lowlives that are selling this crap..... I can't type what I think how they should be dealt with, not nice.

I think fentanyl has replaced heroin up here as being the top killer, apparently a lot of the pot floating around is laced with it and you know teenagers, they think they are invincible.

By the way @Nyboy I've meant to say it many times before, love your slogan "Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads" a truer statement never made:thumbsup.

The CDC decently released information on the numbers of drug overdose deaths in the U.S.

Lexington Kentucky Herald Leader

Kentucky is one of the states with the highest rates but the subject of the article they printed had to do with overdose increase, over time. Perhaps, the problem has been in other articles.

It's serious one and growing.

I've sat here trying to decide if I want to comment or not.
If I don't I'll always wish I had.

I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to kill them self or anyone else. I know a lot of times people blame it on bullies but even the high school out here has over 300 students per grade, surely there is a way to avoid people you don't want to associate with in that large of school.
And where are the staff that they can't see what is happening to the bullied students.
I had a young fellow that helped me around the place and we talked about this very thing.
What he said was the teachers would just sluff it off if a student would come to them for help or they would make a spectacle of the kid in front of a class or group of kids to where the child now felt bullied by the teacher also.
I guess that I was not bullied because I could stand up for myself, also I don't ever remember anyone using the term bully when I went to school.

@bobm, I didn't know your grandson went to a Clovis school. I was shocked to read about the suicides since that school district has some of the best schools in Fresno.
