Darn, it happened ...
The temperature was 99°f again, yesterday. There was some 16mph wind gusts.
That's probably why it happened. I opened windows this morning to the smell of wood smoke. My first thought was that a neighbor had left a barbecue smoldering all night. No, it's a nearby wildfire.
Small but not yet contained. Maybe, if we don't have too much wind today, the firefighters can keep it close to 100 acres. Two structures have burned and that may be how the fire started but it moved on to the trees.
Things still smell smoky but the haze has blown away.
