I planted two Supersweet 100's tomatoes, 2 Golden Eggs, and 2 Black Plums. Let me say that that is way more tiny tomatoes than I really need, but I always plant at least 2 of each variety "just in case". Well, now I know what I am going to do with them all! And I'm thinking these would make great Christmas gifts too. Thought you guys might like this idea too, so check out these links...

Does anyone dry tomatoes in their car? I have been trying to get a batch dry for three days. They just don't dry. Two days in the car with the windows open, to keep it around 140 degrees in the back window. (would be about 170 otherwise) I left the car windows up today, due to less intense sun. Some of the smaller pieces are dry, but not the medium tomato slices. (about 1/2 inch thick) We're talking about 99 degree direct blazing sun here. What am I doing wrong? It is humid here, maybe that is the problem?:/

Thanks, V, I remember that now that I read it again. :D I've got ruthless humidity here too, but that's ok, my mom got me a dehydrator for Christmas last year so I'll use that. I was wondering if there was much difference in the flavor if they're literally sundried compared to using a dehydrator?

So Lucky, you could also use your oven, set on the lowest heat. I've done deer jerky that way before.
