Chillin' In The Garden
HA HA. Unless these have been thrown in with "dirty" trash, they'd be on MY plate. I'm not above peeling back those husks and tossing it in a kettle of boiling water. Now, if they've been tossed in with general trash (bathroom, etc) then that's different. Then I might not want to feed it to the chickens or even get near it. Separate trash? Bring it on...it's probably cleaner than most restaurant food where the help never washes their hands unless a manager is standing over them...rubs their nose, touches the food, etc...jojo54 said:Oh yes, I forgot corn on the cob. Sometimes I get lots of corn that the husks look ugly but there is nothing wrong with the cobs. I cut eat cob into 3 or 4 pieces and give enough so each has their own cob. I save the rest for other days since they go wild for it and I heard you are not supposed to give them lots of corn.. Besides, they can't eat all their "candy" in one sitting.boggybranch said:Hahahahaha...They REALLY like corn on the cob and grapes.jojo54 said:Good for you, Boggy! Great job (nothing better than getting paid to talk to people and be friendly ) plus all that produce. My girls love it in different ways (raw, cooked, chipped) plus my garden loves the leftovers that they don't eat or that they eat and work through their systems. Another thing you can check out is past dated tofu, yogurt, veggie burgers, etc. Our store here sometimes has those and I get them when I pick up the produce. They girls go "wild" for that stuff. Their beaks pecking on their dishes sound like hail hitting a roof or drumming as they are all pecking so fast. Congrats and enjoy your good fortune, its well deserved. :rainbow-sun
