You can cut the potatoe, I have one that has roots now! I thought it would grow sprouts first but I have a tub of roots, no sprouts!! can I plant it like that??

Wait for the sprouts. Cut the vines in 8-10" pieces and plant them. Then plant the potato too and see what it does! I think we are all learning some valuable ways to grow sweet potatoes!
