This Friday/Saturday will be hatch day here. Nova, one of my speckled sussex hens, is setting on 9 eggs from a friend's hens. None of her hens want to be mamas and her incubator keeps going haywire, so she borrowed a warm chicken butt. I'm deciding if I want to keep one chick - just as a 'reward' for Nova's hard work. They are some easter eggers and some dominiques and one marans-x from my hen.
Hummm... I've been really wanting to add some barred feathers to my flock...
