In that article I linked, they were putting the blame on the growers, whether correctly or not. Anyone know of any other great big greenhouses that we could contact?

Thats good I'm impressed they updated you so quickly. I wonder if its the retailers like Home Depot and others that are saturating the plants.
Why would Home Depot or any other retailer saturate any plant with herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or anything else other than water when they have row upon row of these items to SELL to you ? :caf

So they look ideal and people buy them. Nobody wants to buy plants that don't look as good. Especially when another company is selling the exact same product for almost the same price? Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot all seem to carry the same plants in their garden centers so why settle?

Plus I don't know that they keep their plants in ideal conditions. The jam them in there, plants are stressed, most often root bound in their pots, and those stressed plants are susceptible to disease. Disease makes them look bad. Looking bad goes back to the point I made above.

Maybe its done before they get to the stores, who knows. But I wouldn't be surprised if its at the companies request not the nursery. They sold the plants who cares once its onto their truck.
