boggybranch
Deeply Rooted
Won't be too long before I'll be able to try it out.
Yea d, Those two boxes were where I had taters planted. Haven't put anything back in them, yet. Been trying to kill all the nutgrass in those boxes with Roundup* before I replant. Thinking about moving and putting my strawberries in one of the beds and planting asperagus in the other, come spring. That way I'll have plenty of time to kill the nutgrass and get the soil ready with plenty of compost before planting.ducks4you said:WOW, boggybranch--have you harvested and are you getting ready to re-plant those raised beds (next to the potato box)?
Last two years experimentation with hay and straw being a TOTAL "bust"........it'll be compost and soil, all the way, this time.lesa said:Looking good, boggy!! Can't wait to see how it turns out. I planted mine in the ground this year and they really took up way too much room! Layering with straw or just your wonderful compost??
According to the LSU Ag Dept Planting Guide (same zone as I am), for fall planting of taters.....August 15th-Sept 10th. Won't be long.digitS' said:I'm also curious about tater planting schedules for the deep South, Boggy.
