Taters - disease, or bugs?

The DE that I've seen at Lowe's has been for use in swimming pools. I know it's not supposed to be used with chickens. Not sure how it fares in the garden.

This stuff specifically says it's for the garden, but says it can also be used indoors as well (fleas in your carpeting & so forth)...so I would guess it would be okay for a chicken coop.

I'm off to the dollar store to try to find a dispersal device!

Cool beans! I wish they would start carrying the good stuff. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE locally last year and had to order it online.

It wasn't easy to find, to be sure...& there was only 1 brand in 1 size. I'm afraid next year I won't be able to find any locally, either. :/

The good news is, I found a shaker-type device (glass with metal top, actually meant for sugar )...I don't know if the coverage is acceptable, but at least it's on there now, so we'll see!

Did you try calling health food stores? I had to call a bunch before I found somebody with a clue. Then I got a tiny little health food store that ordered it in for me special, with some other bulk orders he was making. I had to wait about a month before it came in, but it was under 20 bucks for 50 pounds, and it's food grade. I wouldn't be using it if I had to pay what they charge for a tiny little 1 pound box.
Now I can hurl it around with wild abandon!
If I wanted....... jus' sayin...
