Happy Thanksgiving to all. I love the traditional meal as well. It has been passed down for many generations. Turkey, dressing, ham, sweet potatoes, turnips, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, maybe a salad, with chocolate pie, coconut pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, dried apple stack cake, and maybe another cake/dessert adorn the table. My favorite is the dressing/stuffing and of course the pies. We had that on Sunday at my mothers.

We are now in Boston at my DIL's and they are cooking our meal today. Her husband is a wonderful cook (coffee is even heated to a particular temperature, engineer). Last night we had apple smoked chicken breast and baked squash, HEAVENLY! They are just trying to do gardening at their new home, so had grown the squash. They have been here two years and have bought from a local farm where they get a variety of things each month and can participate in growing those things (community supported agriculture). I love the idea and they have tried so many new veggies because of that. Since buying their home a year ago they are hoping to grow some of their own.
