Hey Russ, the beans on the vining CdC 226 have a purple blush starting to form whereas the other CdeC's in the pot don't seem to have it. Not dry enough to pick for seed yet but soon . I'll post a picture of the pods and seed when I shell them out.

This CdC 226 story will be interesting to follow up on. I will predict that the bean growing the runner will give you a white seed this year, but if you plant them again next year it will probably change, and you may get a combination of semi-runner and non runner bush plants. I would venture a guess that the cross happened here in my garden last year in '13. CdC 226 was exposed to true bush non-runner snap bean varieties on the adjacent rows left and right of it. In the row that it was growing in it was wedged between two varieties that grew runners.
This year in my bean garden I had planted some Blue Jay and Jacob's Cattle seeds, and in both plantings some of the plants are growing runners.
