The Fans of the Gecko Thread

I live in southeast Texas and we have geckos and anoles both! I used to catch the anoles when I was a kid and let them "bite" my earlobes and wear them as earrings! Hmmmmm.........I'll have to show my grand daughter that one!

Try that with the alligator lizards we have around here and you'd lose an ear. They'll lock onto a finger and you'll be bleeding when you finally get it off.
It's customary in Guam and the Phillipines to have geckos as house lizards to keep down the bugs. They have woven mat ceilings and the geckos go running across them upside down. We were at the table one day when I guess one of them lost it's grip and plopped into a bowl of soup. The hostess calmly fished it out and turned it loose like it was an everyday thing.

i like lizards/geckos/anoles alot, but i don't want them attached to my ear or in my soup.
