I'll link the Vermont college story below. Here is one of the businesses - link. It's a fun idea!

I'm not sure that any commercial venture into agriculture has much prospect of financial bounty. Probably for another several generations, gain has to be looked at on very personal levels. Like - It fits with my interests, where I want to live, what I want for my family ... those sorts of things :).

$ seed sheet + $ 100% certified organic + $ no GMO + $ special blend soil from Vermont + $ ship to Wa. State + $ for water + $ fertilizer + $ for my labor = $$$$$$$$ cost of a smoothie only during harvest... too rich for my blood !!!

To which I questioned: Realistic Ralph? Bobm goes straight for the jugular -- the realistic viewpoint. It is true that at this time, financial considerations would deem the whole plan un-realistic. Therefore, altruistic reasons for attempting the plan must prevail or no one would even try.
 
It's a cute idea and I'm sure it will take off....lot of folks out there who want something for no effort, no matter the costs. People LOVE to spend money...I'm betting NYboy has already ordered one!
