Great looking brooder set up! I have never raised meaties, but have brooded layers, they are pretty easy. These ducks I am raising are hysterical. As in screaming, run for your lives, trample the one who fell down, bunch up in the corner, the MONSTER IS GOING TO EAT US!!! (at least they got that last part right) They sure are stupid. I have never mistreated them, I try not to startle or scare them, I feed them twice a day, water and have them a water tub to play in. They are still hysterical idiots. I don't think it will bother me so much to send them to freezer camp, than if they ran TO me, peeping and quacking for their feed. At least I won't feel guilty for cutting their idiot heads off. When I butcher an old layer, I get that twinge that makes me feel bad.

Very nice set-up! Bay, I am surprised to hear that your ducks are so flighty. I thought with their "imprinting" genes they would follow anyone anywhere! I always say that about the chicks...seriously, I feed and take care of them everyday- and they still freak out every time I reach in the box! It 's enough to give you a complex...

Baha. I've had my ducks for about a year and they just now will finally get within a foot of me and not quack their heads off and panic.

Upgrading the meaties to adult feeders tomorrow. They were a little crowded at dinner tonight. It's finally warm enough for them to be outside and they are so happy!

Haha, @Smart Red is already seeing fried chicken!! They are looking good, you're doing a good job! I made feeders for my ducks with plastic milk jugs. I cut two holes in the jug about halfway up and they work great!
