This little guy has been hanging around the neighborhood with mom for a couple of weeks. Until today he/she was always too far back in the trees, or it was too late in the evening to get a good shot. (With the camera).

I looked out today and he was just on the edge of the woods off the lawn.

He wandered a bit closer to sample the melted snow fort the neighbor kids made a few weeks ago.

You can see his mammy back in the trees.

When I looked out again he was on the sidewalk at the corner of the garage sniffing a trellis, but when i came back with my camera he startled and ran back to the woods. His mom was watching closely to make sure I stayed put.

Moose in the yard.....that is so cool! I love your moose pictures!

I do, too ... I think ...

There has been recent news stories about the moose population declining in idaho and increasing in Washington.

Obviously, they are on the moove!!

Below, is a picture of one from last summer. He was heading downstream towards Northwest Arkansas ..!

As much asI love the photoos moose are supposed to be so dangerous. Are you staying safe when taking these photos? do they eat your garden? So cut.

Yippy! More mooses, more pictures. I love your moose photos, @thistlebloom! Looks like momma wanted to show him/her the summer shower she'd been talking about. Or "here's the land with all the delicious hosta that will be popping up soon."

How come I don't have any moose in my backyard? :idunno

Too crowded for a moose and its mother to fit?

I doubt I'll ever find a moose wandering through my woods. . . but I did here a story about one of the McDonald's stores in a nearby city who had a patron with a baby kangaroo (in a stroller) that stopped in for a meal and was asked to leave. She showed papers from her doctor saying that the kangaroo was a therapy pet and was thereby allowed into any establishment. She chose to leave when the officer who was called suggested she might be in violation of exotic pets laws.

A shame that she couldn't get a meal deal from McDonald's, huh?

I can't imagine having those critters in my yard! You really are brave to garden, with those appetites coming and going! Such cool pics...nothing beats the sprinkler pics though!
