Still battling green water, but some people add blue dye on purpose, so, guess it's not horrible...lol

New guys brought a parasite, so QT did nothing, lol.
Bog kept leaking as well.
All fish stopped eating properly & I did 400-1.5k water changes every 3 days or so, because of the leaks.

Then, 3 days ago, the floating plants were all gobbled up, so I started feeding.
Didn't see new guys.

But then, just a few minutes ago, I saw the Ochiba Shigure for the first time!! :weee
Then the Goromo, too!

Horrible news...
Ochiba Shigure koi was found dead an hour ago. By smell & looks, seems like it died late Wednesday...:hit:hit:hit

aww! so sorry! i wonder if being in with so many larger ones makes it more difficult for them to survive?

as for the green water, with that many fish and that much feeding going on and direct sunlight it would be pretty much impossible to have absolutely clear water unless you had a very strong filtering system (including diatomacious earth water polishing IMO). the only way the oceans are so clear in most tropical areas is not that they have a great filtering system but that they have such a vast volume and most areas are nutrient poor.

It was clear, without green water before the second huge water change & the filter was off for about 2wks. Caught 19 fish & sold them, so I won't believe "too many fish".
I don't feed a lot and usually only once a day, enough that it's gone quickly, usually. A third of a cup.
And the shade only allows for morning sun for a couple hours to an area that is 13ft long by about 2-2.5ft wide.
