So nice that you could carry on that tradition. Finally getting my daughter interested in growing things. She is 29, so not nearly as cute as your little helpers!

II'll take that compliment any day NYB. And Thistle all of the stone walls around our property attest that it took generations of labor to get the rocks in a controlled space. 35 plus years of tilling, manure, and planting help too. My husband is obsessed with straight rolls and well tilled soil. My rows...not so straight.

I see that you plant whole spuds. I cut my leftovers from last year into pieces and plant those. Any reason for doing them whole?

Your seed potatoes look like supper to me. Mine? Wrinkled and growing in the container. Have to get the second batch of spuds planted asap.

I guess I have a few decades to catch up. Although I don't believe I could ever eliminate the rocks from my soil even if I worked at it like a full time job. My soil is just like @digitS' soil.
