The Traveling Desk Plant

About a year ago a friend gave me a clipping of the plant in the photos attached. It's some traveling/creeping vine. He's told me a solid three or four times what the plant is, but I can't remember and I don't have the heart to ask him again lol. It was one vine about 5' long. I propagated that into two 1.5" long babies.

Anyway, the mother plant has some spots on it and a couple dried out/burnt (for lack of a better term - just under fluorescent office ceiling lights) leaf tips. These imperfections were there well before I took the clippings and have not gotten any worse since (that was about two weeks ago). Can you guys A) help me identify this plant and B) help me correct the leaf issues?

What Steve said, commonly known as Pothos.

Those leaves don't look too bad to me (says the non house plant person) and it wouldn't worry me much. Pothos are easy and undemanding. I predict it will flourish and grow in new leaves, then you can just clip the ugly ones off.
There are others who actually know what they're talking about on here, and I'm sure they'll give you some help.

I actually did grow a lot of houseplants at one time in my life, but have forgotten most all of that.

I've looked it up before, but wasn't convinced that's it lol. Basically I'm looking to find out exactly what it is so I can better learn to care for it. The thing with the leaves is that they are telling me something is wrong, but I don't know what that is lol. Usually it means an nutrient deficiency, or too much light, etc. But I don't know how to tell exactly. It's been in the same pot, with the same soil, since my friend gave it to me probably two years ago now. Probably time to feed the poor thing, huh?

Yes, its a pothos. And you have a varigated one. They also come in solid green. They grow and grow and grow and when they get too long, cut them off and root in a glass of water.
