Oh, I had the most mouthwatering sandwich for dinner tonight. :drool The lady my MIL works for told her about a sandwich she used to get at Tamarack on the WV turnpike that is basically a BLT, except instead of a ripe tomato, you make it with a fried green tomato!! Who would have thought there was any room to improve upon the BLT? Although we usually eat wheat bread, I made it on two toasted slices of Italian bread. Yummy!

That just sounds heavenly. :drool Why hasn't anyone thought of this before??? This should be THE WAY to eat a slice of FGT.

Can't believe that I've got to wait a whole year before I can try it..... :smack

Mmmm worth a try. We did have BLT for supper tonight. The Mortgage Lifter was so big it only took one slice per. sandwich. :drool

Oh no, Canesisters! I don't know if I could live with an unsatisfied craving that long! :hu

BLT's are just sooooo good. No other sandwich can compare to a garden freshly picked tomato. We had that tonight with nice big slices of Rutgers on toasted white bread. Oh, good grief these are so good!!!!

Glad you enjoyed it, Meatburner. :)

Wow, Nyboy, there isn't much time left in the growing season. Sounds like you will be eating a lot of fried green tomatoes! I am just about ready to pull most of mine and lay aside the green ones big enough to be worth keeping. The garden is weedy and I am tired of looking at it. Time to take the mower to it. ;)

Well with all the hype, I decided to try my first fried green tomato! It was delicious but then I guess anything fried is.;)

We got ciabata rolls from the bakery, made the blt with the fried tomatoes, and added slices of avocado. It was a delicious gourmet sandwich!
