We had a horrible summer and a glorious fall! We still have not had a frost. I think that must be a record for us. However, they are calling for freezing temps by tomorrow night- and snow flurries for the end of the week. I dread the coming winter... So glad I planted a second crop of beans, swiss chard, and beets. Have harvested from the beans many times- and everything else is looking good. It was a gamble- but it paid off!

We picked green beans after the tops were singed by frost, Lesa.

I was a little apprehensive about that and waited several days to see what they'd do in the garden. (Melons, cucumbers, squash, corn plants - all dead.) The beans have held up and we grabbed 'em before it dropped to 28f!

In fact, I'm having some out of the crisper drawer for lunch :p! And, I thought there was only a little bok choy left in that drawer . . .
