There Goes The New TV/ Update good News

I have a command for my big black Lab/Great Dane when he has pills to take. First I get him all excited by exclaiming "I have a PILL! Don't you want a PILL? Do you want this PILL?" By this time he is jumping up and down, barking and all excited. I tell him SIT and be a good boy, then the magic word--ALLIGATOR! I toss it in the air and large alligator jaws open wide then snap shut with a loud click. ALLIGATOR! who knew.......

If all else fails, I have been able to shame my dog into taking her pill. I point right at it closely where she dropped it on the floor in front of her and repeat TAKE YOUR PILL, TAKE YOUR PILL, TAKE YOUR PILL! until she gets tired of my nagging and eats it just so I'll get out of her face. :p I also had a chow mix a couple years ago that I could follow around and nag until she would jump in the tub. Apparently my nagging skills are world-class.

I tried calling dad yesterday got machine. I forgot Wed is seniors day at casino. They get free parking and $5 chip. My dad's dog is grossly over weight, I really don't think it was about dog not eating pill, but more about price of pills even though I was paying for everything. Will try to call this morning I know he has a recheck at vet tomorrow.

The contrast between these two successful approaches is remarkable! They probably require an equal amount of human energy expenditure, however. An important consideration ...

At nearly 15, she's lost a little bounce, lol. I used to be able to toss a broccoli floret and she'd gulp that before she knew what it was. :D

Of course, her age is why she needs the pain pills anyway.

Funny your dad doesn't even want you to pay for it. Extra weight causes them so much joint pain too. My pibble was overweight for years until I switched her to a brown rice and lamb feed (no corn), then she trimmed up easily to the perfect condition. I credit that good food for getting her all the way to 15. At the rate she's going, I think she just may have a couple more years in her if the cancer stays at bay. 4 years she's lived with it now
