Terminix guy came by and said that because of all the insulation and vapor barrier under the house, they would have to tear it out to get to the openings in order to guarantee their work. Not sounding good...... Price starting at $900.......starting to sound really worse......he suggested us moving the washer/dryer (stacked) and seal foam it ourselves......plus us sealing what we could on the inside.....

After a sensible discussion, it was determined that they would come out, use a long nozzle and spray foam openings with out tearing down the insulation and just do the best they can. For $250. No guarantee. SOLD!

Here is problem, mice love to chew on wiring. You can not keep them out. Only hope is poison them. Feed them well in crawl space.

Will do! Going to the hardware/feed store today to pickup some more pasture seed. Adding poison to the list.

Something odd. Monday night I had some folks over and after they all left I was sitting in the den and heard a very soft 'knock' in the wall. All 3 cats jumped - which was weird since 2 of them never reacted at all to the loud chewing/banging. Just that one little knock. It crossed my mind that maybe it just nibbled a wire and fried itself.

On a positive note - my crazy renter is uber-OCD and seems to LIVE for a chance to obsess about things. I can't wait to tell her that we have a mouse and watch her struggle with what to do with all the food she's got hidden in her room (that I don't know about).

I do a lot of crazy things, but I am NOT crawling under the house to spray foam in openings where plumbing comes into the house. I'll tackle practically anything, but not that. Nope. Uh-Uh. Ain't happening. For $250 I can pay some other poor boob to crawl under the house, I'm in!
