Major, what did the seeds look like. Maybe 1/8 diameter round balls? Google "coriander" and look for an image. That's cilantro seeds.
nope the seeds were very small about the size of a pen tip.

it does look like parsley...we shall see

If you were to pinch off a small leaf and smell it, that should give it away. Parsley, cilantro and celery all have very distinctive smells.

Celery grows very slowly, the others quicker so that might help you determine. I would take a taste. Def not lettuce! Oh well, surprises are good some times. :D

that would be so much fun to get together w/a bunch of gardeners & talk, swap ideas, brag, & tell fish - er garden stories while eating great food. what could be better than that?
we'll need to make some home made vanilla ice cream to go w/monty's berry cobbler
