Any Co-op or farm supply could carry it. Kills ants, mosquitos, ticks, bed bugs and is resteraunt safe. Don't know how. Follow instructions.

This is an interesting revelation:

"Scientists at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, New York, have learned that opossums act like little vacuum cleaners when it comes to ticks, including those that can spread debilitating Lyme disease to humans and other animals."

https://www.nwf.org/News-and-Magazines/National-Wildlife/Animals/Archives/2015/Opossums.aspx

That was an interesting read. I do think the babies are quite cute. I'd like them all a lot better if they'd stay out of my chicken coop though! My only reason to declare war on them. I've had big opossums rip a leg right off a chicken.

ouch! poor chicken!

i have a possum that ranges my yard on occasion. so far so good keeping it out of the coop. i think he only hangs around to see if i will toss a few eggs out the coop in the woods for him/her. i've had a few issues with ticks this year too but i haven't let the chickens loose in the yard as much as i have in the past. part of the yard has been overgrown since we have a few fallen trees that need clearing.

Last year I came in covered with ticks, used a deet type spray on my shoes and cuffs that worked.
This year I haven't had but 2 ticks all spring and summer and I haven't sprayed with any repellent.

THANX RICH

Well we can forget that statement.
Last night, after making that post, I found another tick and I wasn't even in the woods or weeds.
I hope this was just a bit of karma for my bragging...

The chickens keep them at bay here, plus keeping the grass and weeds down helps a good bit. The brown dog never gets them but the white dog gets them every now and again, but only on his face and head....neither are treated with flea and tick preparations.

I'd second the advice for garlic...good to eat and good for you in many ways. Deep Woods OFF is the best repellent we've found for all types of pests out there and we apply it before working in the woods or weeds.
