Tree with Leaves on Thorns

@seedcorn Thanks for the link! think something in the hawthorn family might be correct. The description of prairie crab apple branches sounds right but leaves look like wild plum.

I'm near DFW texas. I have another one I can't figure out.

Tree is approx 20ft tall. The branches have thorns and the thorns have leaves growing off them.

Most citrus trees have thorns as well as mesquite. You will have to see if the leaves have a citrusy smell.
