Nephew stopped by garage again, even with heart attack truck is moving along. All body work is now done priming is to start tomorrow. Guy said reason it took this long was he had to redo what other did. He is a older man from a time your work meant something. He had a heart attack and recovered and went back to work. He did ask for more money, which is ok by me, I don't mind paying if things are happening

Good News indeed. It sounds like you have finally found the right guy for the job. :)

there's been another old Dodge truck for sale down the street from me. can't be sure of the year but think it's from the 50's like your's. i'm hoping it will be there for this weekend. i'd love to get some pics & check it out. body doesn't look dented but the paint is very rough looking. can't tell if it has the engine.

Second that. Always thought I'd like a '53 vehicle. 53 Ford trucks are beyond cool. So is price.....so I'll pass.

How about a '99?

It has one of the last 318 engines but at 195k, I don't think I can keep the machine on the road much longer without a rebuilt one!

All the bells and whistles that truck had are going out. Some, I didn't even know it had, 8 years ago. Some basic things, like shift rpm's, were always in question ...
