Ask how I know...

I wonder if Poison Control keeps track of the number of times you call them? This toddler is going to be the death of me. Fortunately it was just a tiny piece and it came back up. A whole bulb would mean a quick trip to the ER, although they taste bad enough to discourage eating the whole thing.

Apparently they can cause blisters to your hands if you touch them too. Also toxic to dogs, cats and livestock if enough is consumed (including flowers and leaves).

Sooooo glad I didn't have to make a trip to the ER all sweaty and covered in dirt! :th Thought I'd pass this info on since I know some of you guys also have young kids/grandkids.

... wishing the deer were affected by poisonous flowers/plants.... Bought some Dragon's Blood day lilies 2 years ago - have never seen them bloom.

So glad your little one is ok. Amazing what they will stick in their mouths.

I had 3 plants of tulips in my island until my grandson came to visit, he was walking in my island!!!!:barnie :hit But I didn't have anything planted yet. I scolded him and he decided to get even with me and stomped on my tulips that were just coming up. That got him a swat on the behind. He never went back in my island.

I'm glad she's ok. And good to know about the bulbs themselves.

For all you folks out there if you have to induce vomitting in your pets, hydrogen peroxide will induce vomitting. Put some in a bowl, grab a turkey baster or syringe, pin the critter down and get it down then get it in their stomach. May take a few minutes but it will come up for sure.

Yup...hydrogen peroxide...used that lots when i worked at the animal hospital!! I'll add a tip...dogs dont like to throw up in front of you...so syringe some down, then give them a break and walk away, so they think they're alone. Watch from a window or behind a door. Be ready to run out when they puke to keep those sickos from eating whatever it was again!! The hydrogen peroxide will be kinda rough on their gums and stomach...try some gentle meals for the next couple days - yogurt, plain cooked eggs, cottage cheese, bland rice with a small amount of chicken.

Good to know! Glad she is ok and it all worked out. Sorry that doesn't sound right. :/ But glad she is ok and you didn't have to go to the ER. I'm sure to a small child, a bulb looks like just some kind of fruit or something.

So glad she is ok. I try not to let my little ones around the flower beds. Little kids are sneaky and very fast.
