So the vet says it's her knee that is bothering her, not her hip. She thought it was arthritis, too, and prescribed an anti-inflammatory/pain pill and glucosamine supplement. Also, since Penny was due to have the anal glands checked, I asked them to do that too, and, darn it, she has an impaction there again. So now she is on an antibiotic for that. I think the pain pills are helping her a lot.
I hadn't thought about giving her turmeric, but I take it, so I may research it to make sure it isn't harmful for dogs.
She is more adventurous on her walks the last two days. She was just slogging along, lately. Thanks for all your good wishes.
