Watched threads

I am following "Chronicles of a noob gardener" and it seems that, even though I have watched the thread, I don't get any alerts when it updates me. I don't know if its the same for other watched threads, but I really enjoy following this thread.

Is it maybe because I don't reply very often?

Hmm, sorry you're having this problem.

You mentioned "alerts", but do you mean actual "on-site alerts" or email notifications / alerts?

What browser / version are you on?

Any other users having this problem?

Apparently I am "watching" a few threads, though I had to go up and click on the Watched Threads on the top bar to find out. I don't understand why they are on my watched list as I didn't do anything to qualify them for that, and wouldn't necessarily picked those particular ones.
I have never deliberately clicked anything to specify a thread I wanted to watch so don't really understand what it means.

I check the forum almost every day. At the top of my screen is a button that says "Alerts." I check those first, as I uncheck any thread that isn't interesting enough to keep following me.
