watermelon tip broke off

I accidentialy broke the tip off my watermelon plant that was 6 inches long, will new vines start growing soon?

I bet it will shoot off one or two more vines... mine have had as many as 4 vines.... only getting 1 watermelon per vine though.

Oh good hopefully they will grow more vines, we have been getting a lot of rain here not so good for melon growing, hopefully it will dry up here soon. I can already spot tiny melons.......
