We got a late frost last night. Our last frost is usually early March (official last frost date is March 17th).

When I left for work it was still dark and frosty so I left the garden covered. I'll have to see what damage I got when I get home tonight.

I may have to replant the cucumbers, bush beans and squash. Hopefully the tomatoes were covered well enough - they were doing so good with lots of blooms on them. The strawberries, onions, and broccoli hopefully were fine. I'm also worried about my herbs - I didn't have enough sheets to cover them (I expanded the garden this year and didn't think about needing more frost blankets).

Keeping my fingers crossed. :fl

I had covered all my tomatoes with gallon milk jugs. Pepper plants too. I would say about 80% of everything looks like the frost got it......I felt SO sure the jugs would protect them :/

I tried this a couple weeks ago too... I lost ALL my tomatoes :(

Everything else I forgot to cover was fine. I was really really bummed out.

Last night I forgot to cover my peas, I have to go check on them shortly.... I pray they did ok. Only half of what I planted came up anyways.

Well, I only covered mine with sheets or the frost covers you get at Lowe's. I don't know if that is better or worse than milk jugs. Oh well, I shall see in a few hours.

I still have my fingers crossed. :fl

I covered mine all with plastic sheets from the paint section at Lowe's. Hopefully I don't have bad luck waiting on me. BTW how do you know if the plant is a total loss? My lettuce, carrots and radishes are only about 1 inch tall.

Y'all are scaring me! 31 predicted here tonight, but I think all will be ok. A little worried about my peas but the weatherman actually said the freeze warning would be for between 4 and 8 AM here. I am not going to try and cover them simply because the wind is blowing about 15-20 mph out there. I figure they can handle a short period below freezing better than getting beat to death by some old sheets. We shall see. I planted them a month earlier than usual because...well because I was impatient.

I think your lettuce, radish and carrots will be ok agirly4. They can take some light frost pretty well.
