thinking to myself what else can go wrong now...okay whats wrong?

what are you talking about?

you know the praying mantis nest you brought home this spring, well they hatched and they are all over the front of the house....

Super cool, since the nests we have/had are at the Garden we do not notice if or when they hatch , Love seeing the little ones. Great close up photos too.

living with fields around us we find their egg cases on the walls of the house, on rocks, and in other places. both green and brown kinds. always welcome here. they are such interesting creatures and remind me of how aliens should look. :) i used to keep them as pets in my terrarium with the venus flytraps. like a cat they would catch a bug and chew the head off first. sometimes when feeding them they'd catch a fly in one claw and then start eating it and then another fly would come along and they'd get it with the 2nd claw. voracious... :) if they were not annual bugs and got bigger we'd have been in trouble. heeheehee...

@buckabucka you'll find them more in open fields/grasslands/meadows and not as much in woodland areas, but they may be around. :)
