We've had similar break-ins on my road. They like easy targets, probably why the tool shed. Most of the time it's druggies looking for stuff they can sell quick. My house is one of the few that haven't been broken into. I will always have a pitbull or some other big dog! Sorry your dad lost his tools, but I imagine he's just glad you all are still safe. Stuff can be replaced.

Look on craig's list. Call the police if you see the items.

Here is the tally of what was stolen so far- 2 construction nailers, a wireless drill, my shotgun, a 100ft extension cord, and a big bucket of change. All of these items are valued at over $1,700. My gun alone was almost $700. I called Cabelas and got all of my registration information so they can hopefully locate the gun. A deputy came out to the house last night and looked over my property and told me that we were the third robbery called in that night within a 5 mile radius. He said they stole the extension cord because they have been melting them down and selling off the copper on the inside. Meth heads more than likely. He also said that since a firearm was stolen, now we have to get a private investigator involved. I couldn't remember if there was any ammunition in the case with the gun or not so that is a MAJOR concern for me. I've been calling around to pawn shops in the area and so far nothing has been found. I'm checking craigslist as we speak...

Might want to go to some of the recycling places and ask if someone's been turning in copper wire or melted copper. Someone who can melt copper has a hot fire, or is a blacksmith or bronze or brass founder. or an employee of a foundry. Check the recycle places.

Most of all, STAY SAFE!
