Garden Master
I'm with Bay...just gonna mow (or weedeat it). I'm missing the boat now on several fall crops that should be going in and we're looking at another 10-day forecast with rain almost every day. Totally mind-numbing. It's not going to dry out in time for a lot of what I had hoped would be my 2nd chance plantings.
Nearly all of my onions and leeks rotted in the ground. I pulled them day before yesterday and will dehydrate what little I can get out of them. They were huge this year too. (boo hoo)
I have 2 nice rows of potatoes right now, still have a ways to go. I hope they don't rot too.
A very scraggly patch of blue dent corn, healthy looking, but sparse.
I might be able to muck out there and try to salvage a few tomato plants. Cut the weeds back with clippers maybe. Can't mulch them; they're drowning as it is.
I took the electric fence off of my smaller side garden. It's a swamp. I'll move the new hens over there once...if...it dries out.
I've got one raised bed that is planted right now. That's it. The other two need some repair, but maybe I'll get to plant some fall stuff in those.
Berries did good, but the peaches and apples are a bust.
In another week or two, I'll start running over to Ohio to see what I can get from the U-picks to can. I'm gonna quit pacing and driving myself nuts with this garden for now. If I do get a break in the rain, I'm going fishing!
