Yesterday we experienced Lightening storms. This morning we experienced Torrential rain at rates near 5 inches per hour. Also we enjoyed the closeness of huddling with pets because of Tornadoes nearby. Today we dried out a little and tonight we are told to expect a light dusting of snow or sleet.

It seemed to me to be a most unusual January.

I got the rabbits in 2012 and this is the first year that I did not think cold enough to put plastic up on their doors. Usually we have a week of really cold where I bring their water bowls in the house to thaw, but not this year. I am wondering if this is going to be an extra bad year for aphids and other bugs.

And now its sunny with a brilliant sky and mid 50s. I asked my favorite beer seller if he enjoyed the random weather we have had in the last two days. He is an immigrant from India or somewhere in that vicinity. He told me he was warned before he came here about the 3 W's of America. 1) Work- no guarantee. 2)Women- no guarantee. 3)Weather- no guarantee.

We have had winters with no sub-zero - those winters seem unusual to me. This winter, we have had one low of 13°f and one of 14°f, I guess they were. Without something more severe than that, this must be the warmest winter that I have experienced in the 50 that I have experienced here.

I hardly know what to think, what to expect. What I have experienced and remember has been some extremes - hot cold, dry stormy. Where does such a mild winter fit in? Where will we be in the near or distant future? I'm questioning my ability to imagine.

Woke up to -14, but now we are up to -5. I have not seen my garden or lawn since November (everything's been covered in snow). But this is one of the warmest winters I can remember, and is a treat after last winter.

oh my! 3 inches of snow predicted for today and no wind yet they have it down as a winter weather advisory. i wonder if they'll call off school again Monday since they called it off Friday for similar conditions? OMG it is snowing, we're all gonna die! really, it seems to me like perhaps the weather service is just trying to drum up more drama like the current social media hype/bs...

yes, i'm a bit grumpy and getting older by the second. :)

since we don't have much lawn i can't yell at anyone for being on it. the deer and bunnies certainly don't listen...

Haha @flowerbug They have been trying to hype us up about a winter weather advisory for the last 1.5 days (because they have had to keep bumping it ahead), and it expires in 2 hours and still none of the promised snow. The national weather service just isn't accurate enough to get that excited about weather before it even gets here!
