Weather Where You Are

What is the weather in your part of Texas @baymule ? Any snow there?
Steve asked me that very question!

Good looking ride ```
That is Prince. He's got so much personality, I've never had a horse that has to get up in the middle of everything like he does. If I walk out to the barn or pasture, he runs to me to see what I am doing. Then he nibbles on me to let me know that I need to pay attention to HIM instead of whatever I am doing.

Weird weather this week. Yesterday I woke up to freezing fog, which melted by about 10am. Then around 3pm it’s started snowing/sleeting despite the temps being in the 40s. It snowed/sleeted on and off until dark but unsurprisingly nothing stuck. Today I wake up and it’s bright and sunny with temps in the 60s.

Bright and Sunny here as well, @Artichoke Lover .

Yesterday, a nearby airport had wind gusts above 70mph! It wasn't quite as windy here but I discovered on a drive that about a mile away, a spruce tree had fallen on a pickup truck. Nice, newer model - totalled. I'm thinking that those beautiful blue spruces are very poor choices for people to plant in their yards.

My errands took me at some distance from home. It was bright and sunny all along the way. (thru plenty of calm air)

Steve we have 3 BIG blue spruce. About 40 years old. Very tall. They survived the Derecho that took down the century old hackberry from our yard. 🤷‍♀️

Spruce are quite commonly planted here but some of those nearby are now gone. Certainly not all of them are and TV video showed Ponderosa pine dropping while we watched, @Carol Dee . I would never want to live downwind from a Ponderosa even tho they are natives.

Spruce are natives also but not at this elevation in residential neighborhoods.

Texas is getting another winter blast!

32* this morning with a high of 41*. Going downhill from there, low of 27*the next 2 nights, Sunday a low of 19*, Monday a low of 10* and several days of not getting above freezing. That means a whole lot of work twice a day to keep water for the animals. Boo. We won't see sunshine until Friday the 19th. We have several days predicted of wintery mix, meaning ice and snow. We may even get down into single digits.

I have two lamb bottle babies, I put them in the barn in a pen during the day, probably will keep them in the house during this cold. They will miss their exercise, guess I need to get them some diapers so they can run around in the house. They are in a dog crate with XXL puppy pads. Gosh, those adorable tiny lambs sure can pee out gallons! Where does it all come from???

Whine, moan, complain.......... we already had our snow event! Now we get ANOTHER one, plus more than a WEEK of freezing weather! PHOOEY!
