I'm not familiar with Canada's national health plan other than most of it is paid for through taxes and everybody is covered to a certain extent. I don't know which taxes or how high they are. Each Territory or Province is different in some respects but they have to meet the minimum national requirements to get funding.

@so lucky !?

Our chance of snow this week may not amount to much but ..

. SE Missouri. You have a 100% chance of snow beginning about sundown!

My first cold snap this fall/winter. Currently 41, high today 49, low tomorrow 38, just out of frost range. By the weekend and next week back up in the 70's with lows in the 50's or 60's.

5 inches of frozen stuff here - roads were a mess, drivers were stuck everywhere this afternoon. Some of the local traffic folks said they had never seen it so bad. And this is just the start of winter!

Uh oh.

Here I was concerned about the mid-Mississippi Valley and it just worsened as it blew north!

Also wondered at Al Roker's excitement, apparent even on "mute," during yesterday's Today show ... yesterday's Today? Golly. Well, at least we know that events pass - even if they leave destruction in their path.
