Its making headlines here! So far Grants Pass has received over 4.5 inches of water in two days. Don't know what today's total will be.

That is, my friends from the MidWest and East, AMAZING! Astounding! Wonderful too!

Steve: The Rogue River is only half way to cresting. Don't think its gonna do that cus its going to clear up tomorrow.

The weather service says of January 2008:

"When it was all over, 40.0" of Snow had fallen at Spokane airport, making it the snowiest month since December 1996."

Of course, I remember 1996. It wasn't much worse altho, there is always a little more snow here than at the Spokane airport. Now, in January 1969, there was 48.7 inches of snow that fell.

:old. It was my first winter here and I got the idea that it was somewhat more than normal but ... it was a good introduction to winter conditions for this California boy.

In 1996 DH and I had bought a trailer and moved to our land between Sandpoint and Athol, Idaho. We lived in Iowa and our neighbors called and told us the roof on our trailer had collapsed. DB had tried to get there and even with 4-wheel drive could not get there and the neighbors made it over later with snowshoes.

We are expected to get some snow today, somewhere around 1 or at most 2 inch. Since we are quite densely populated, trains are already running at half the normal numbers and there is a traffic warming about slippery roads. Can you believe all this turmoil from 2 inch of snow? o_O:th
