ONE more...Funny, this is a Chevy Camaro, only 20k on it, so it's new, a Sports car, and YET our 2012 Toyota Avalon has more power and can go 0-60 a lot faster. DH pretends his 6'4" legs fit...and I have let him pretend. We had a visitor across the road yesterday.

Home to 80's and humidity. We will see what has grown in a week. Happy Solstice!

Expecting alot of rain this way- we let the garden lay this year so no crops to soak up the water. Any other year we're in drought all Spring and into Summer. The ducks are quite proud of themselves to play in the mud holes though. Wild blackberries came in fast, and figs are getting ready to ripen. Mulberries got taken by the birds extra quick this year. I love the rain, but hoping it dries out again to keep working.

We had 3 for dinner and put away 3 for tomorrow night, which is our last night here. NOTE my Field Hunt Boots and New Gardening Hat!

The fish are amazing! I used to live in Colorado. I lived in Aurora for 1 year and then we moved to Loveland. I lived there for 4 years. It was not a big town then. We moved to Kansas in 1972. All we did when we were kids there was fish. I was not very good at catching trout, but I caught a large brown trout once. Love your new garden hat!

i've fished some of the rivers in CO and have driven quite a bit of the state. love it there when i can visit.

rain here most of last night and through quite a bit of today by the looks of it. Lake Little Tennessee is returning (the field across the road). some of the fields around us haven't even been planted yet.

Quite stormy!

I often read about Colorado weather. Strong winds, thunderstorms with hail - tough gardening conditions, at times. I don't recall seeing any of that when I was visiting but I must have been lucky with better behaved weeks.

The terrain is not so up and down here, elevations, not as high. There is some moderating influence by the Pacific. That comes and goes because there is so many miles and such high mountains between here and salt water.

Yesterday's Storm was only moderate in the mixing of heavy rain with the pea-size hail, how brief the showers were, and the absence of strong winds. Entertaining, yes - although some holes were punched in dahlia leaves. We will go out to the distant garden this morning to assess any damage there. The afternoon might just see a repeat performance of yesterday.

I loved that cloudburst yesterday.

I took my dirty truck to a carwash yesterday, knowing it would only look nice until I got off the paved roads. But the rain had settled most of the dust so it's still clean today.
