three more warm days in the forecast and then down to cooler/wet Friday evening/Saturday morning and then cooler into the next week, but still no frost in the forecast. 60s to low 70s is perfect, 40s to 50s not so nice, but still tolerable. good hard working weather. :)

Started snowing last night and has ice too. First morning of ice in rabbit water bowls and DS had to scrape ice off car to go to work. It is going to be 19 tonight. Sun is out now. It will be in the 40s today and tomorrow and then back into the 50s and I have got to finish what I started and get my garlic planted.

The cold front that brought snow in the West was initially forecast to give us mostly rain, with freeze warnings in the western part of the state, and scattered frost in eastern Wisconsin. The front apparently picked up strength, we've now been updated to a killing freeze for all of Wisconsin, and possible flurries and/or wintery mix (the "pink zone"). Really windy too, which cancels out my slightly warmer micro-climate. Had to turn the car heater on for the first time, it looks like jacket weather is finally here. What little that remained in the garden was harvested by headlamp, everything else (except chard) will probably be dead by morning. :(

Looks like my micro-climate was safe after all, we evaded the freeze. The squash leaves are still healthy & they are the canary in the coal mine. Two more says in this cold snap, the freeze may yet come tonight or tomorrow. DW will be picking the chard today, it really sweetens up when the weather turns cold.

We had our first frost this morning, just enough to scrape windshields and make walkingnthe dog this morning cold. Aside from that, a very brisk wind, beautifully clear, and 60 degrees. Great weather for hard work outside, which is what i did today
